It is well known that global warming and natural resource destruction have become an international problem that needs to be solved. Four Points by Sheraton Bangkok, Sukhumvit is playing our part in a fight to save the planet with its “Four Points Grows Green” campaign.
Through an activity where our team of over 200 Associates planted mangrove trees to help create a more balanced eco-system and expand the area where marine life can breed around the Sattahip Naval Base in Chonburi.
Janet McNab, General Manager said: “The company had long recognized the importance of environmental conservation and this can be seen in our hotel’s policy of focusing on energy saving and recycling and ensuring all our resources are working to optimum efficiency.”
In additional, Ms McNab commented that “Every little bit helps and everyone can make a difference. Four Points has formed what we call the Green Committee who will meet monthly to cultivate awareness among our Associates about Global Warming and how we can change some of our processes along with how our staff outside of work can make subtle changes in their daily lives to make a difference.”
The Four Points Grows Green tree planting at Aow Toong Prong’s Mangrove Plantation involved some hard work, but it was a fun day which created many smiling faces.
The mangrove trees planted will serve as a barrier that prevents erosion and protects the shore from storm surges and also create a habitat for marine life and maintain a good source of nutrition.
